What does Florosa offer?
Florosa bakes garden-inspired cakes, pastries and pan dulce, cureates tea parties and popups, wholesales pastries and edible flowers for cafés and dining programs, plus offers seasonal catering with sweet and savory pastries, beverages, and fruit platters.

What makes Florosa different?
Florosa is a bakery & flower farm shaped by the garden, the seasons, and the multicultural influences that inform our pastry. We create cakes, pastries, and pan dulce using ingredients grown on our certified urban farm alongside locally milled flour, eggs, and produce sourced from growers across Virginia. This approach keeps each menu connected to the landscape and the time of year.
Our background in Latin-inspired pastry adds an additional layer of perspective, flavor, and story, expressed in a way that feels approachable for Charlottesville while remaining rooted in tradition and respect. Florosa also operates at a scale that allows for intention; every cake, pastry, or centerpiece of edible flowers is created by hand and shaped by what the garden provides.

Where is Florosa located?
Florosa operates out of a home based commissary bakery in Charlottesville, Virginia, on a 1/4-acre USDA & NRCS certified urban flower farm.

Florosa is a bakery & flower farm without a traditional storefront. Find us around Charlottesville at popups.

How do I place an order?
For cakes, catering, wholesale, or events, please submit an inquiry through the forms on our website. We respond with availability and next steps within 3-5 business days, or sooner.

How far in advance should I book a cake or catering?
We recommend 2 weeks for cakes and at least 1 week for catering. We occasionally accommodate shorter timelines based on the calendar.

How much is delivery for cakes or catering?
Delivery within 30 minutes of the Locust Grove neighborhood in Charlottesville for an additional $10

Do you offer wedding cakes?
Yes. Florosa creates seasonal, garden-inspired wedding tres leches cakes using fruits from Virginia growers and flowers from our own farm. Florals are based on garden season, with upcharges for sources flowers.
Additionally, sheet cakes priced per person are available to order, marked with slices for easy portioning by caterers.

Do you use your own flowers on cakes?
Yes. We grow edible flowers, herbs, berries, and produce on our certified farm. We also collaborate with local farms and grocers to supplement based on client preferences and season.
During floral offseason, florals on cakes are an additional $15 and the client keeps whatever of the bouquet remains.

Are your flowers safe to eat?
Yes, all flowers are nontoxic to humans and can make contact with food surfaces. Herbs and petals placed are completely edible, though for texture reasons it is not recommended to eat whole flowers & stems.

Do you make traditional pastries from Mexico or Latin America?
We offer pastries & pan dulce informed by Latin flavors and what is growing locally.
Florosa’s menus reflect multicultural influence, technique, and seasonality rather than purely traditional formats.

Do you offer wholesale pastries?
Yes. Florosa provides pastries & edible flowers for cafés, beverage programs, restaurants, and campus dining. Please visit our Wholesale page to see offerings and minimums.

Do you ship pastries or flowers?
At this time, Florosa does not ship pastries or fresh flowers. Wholesale deliveries are local only.

What allergens should I be aware of?
Owner Chris Martin has a tree nut allergy, which means that all pan dulce, cakes, flan, pastries, donuts, and confections made by Florosa are tree nut free.
Though, if you count coconut as a tree nut, everything may contain traces of coconut as we use coconut oil in the kitchen.
Florosa sometimes use sesame products and sunflower seeds in my baking but all equipment used is thoroughly cleaned in between item production.

Can I book a private tea party?
Yes. Private tea parties are available to host at Ethos Wine & Tea for celebrations, showers, intimate gatherings, and corporate groups. Please inquire with your preferred date and guest count.

What payment methods do you accept?
Invoices for catering & wholesale can be paid online via credit card or bank transfer. At popups, cash or card is preferred. Wholesale partners may request recurring billing arrangements.
